fastBREAK: Are You Satisfied?
Join us for a power breakfast of insights, innovation and inspiration – it’s food for thought.
The 2010 fastBREAK innovation series is co-presented by Vibewire Youth Inc. and The Powerhouse Museum. The series showcases fresh perspectives and provocative ideas from some of Sydney’s brightest young thought leaders. Innovation is the staple of the fastBREAK menu. On the last Friday of each month from 7:45am-9am, the Powerhouse Museum’s best-kept secret, the Boiler Room Mezzanine, comes to life with a flurry of fastBREAKing ideas and conversation.
At each fastBREAK event, five sharp young industry leaders from various sectors tackle big questions with five-minute responses around themes of creativity, commercialisation, collaboration, connections and conversation. Following the five presentations, participants are invited to share ideas and experiences in conversations with the five speakers over breakfast.
The next fastBREAK on Friday 28th May, 2010 asks “Are you satisfied?”
This is a great opportunity for conversations outside the ordinary, for professionals from any industry to hear from emerging young entrepreneurs, and for young entrepreneurs to network with leaders from corporate and non-profit organisations. The fastBREAK program is insightful, multi-disciplinary, participatory and generative. fastBREAK gives young achievers a platform to share insights into their recent projects with an audience that has an appetite for innovation and craves change.
fastBREAK is a limited capacity event. Don’t miss your chance to be a part of this leading edge conversation.

David Gravina is the company principal and founder of Digital Eskimo, a founding member of green networking event greenUps, and a director of the live local Foundation. Born in Melbourne and educated in Systems Design at Monash University, David worked in design, programming and producing roles for communications agencies in Sydney and London until the turn of the millennium when he decided to combine his creative skills with his passion for social and environmental issues. Together with a team of media mischief makers he created Unolympics—a satirical take on the Sydney Olympics. Another collaboration involved projecting an image of a first fleet ship with the words “Boat People” onto the Opera House, garnering mainstream media attention. Inspired by the success of these early projects David formed Digital Eskimo, finally aligning his values and his work in a substantial way. Digital Eskimo’s work includes a broad mix of innovation, strategy and research projects for a range of NGOs, arts and business clients. Career highlights include the award winning Your Rights at Work and Message in a Bottle campaigns for the ACTU and Amnesty International respectively. David’s grassroots Raise the Bar campaign was pivotal in replacing draconian liquor licensing laws in NSW. In 2008, Sydney Magazine named him as one of Sydney’s top 100 most influential people. You can find David on Twitter.
Brian Wu is one half of Sydney-based fashion collective Incu. With a Bachelor of Business, a Masters of Commerce, and an MBA under his belt, Brian worked in the IT industry for years before embarking on this business venture with his twin brother, Vincent. As avid shoppers the pair travelled to Hong Kong regularly and noticed a gap in the Australian market for stores that were selling innovative, designer fashion. Inspired by their discovery, Brian and Vincent left the corporate world behind in 2002 and opened Incu in Sydney. The store’s moniker is a reference to the company’s philosophy of incubating young talent, unique collaborations and projects. Brian has worked with the likes of Opening Ceremony, Casio and Topshop under the Incu Presents initiative. You can find Incu on Facebook and Twitter.
