Vibewire believes that young people should create the future, not inherit it.

Young people across the world are making important contributions as world citizens, workers, entrepreneurs, consumers and agents of change. Vibewire is dedicated to encouraging an entrepreneurial spirit by unlocking the talents, imagination and creativity of youth as drivers of change, addressing important economic, environmental and social issues within our communities.

Vibewire is a launchpad for young change makers.

As a youth-led non-profit, Vibewire captures the stories from within our urban communities transforming them into opportunities for young people to connect, create, innovate and grow. We ensure that young people are included and can participate in conversations that matter.

Since 2000, Vibewire has supported young people to effectively shape their world through arts, media and entrepreneurial opportunities. Our role is to work with young people to support them in telling their stories though art, digital media, publication and live performance/showcase.

VIBEWIRE’S PROJECTS

Change Media

Vibewire Change Media curates and showcases an array of conversations that matter to young people, and encourages young people to engage with these issues that are important to their time. Change Media is hosted on vibewire.org as a platform for young people to engage in conversations on social justice, health, science and technology, media and politics, arts and creativity and entrepreneurship.

Live

Young people need inspiration and an outlet to meet like-minded communities who will support their projects. Vibewire Live offers young people numerous events where people can engage with like-minded people and share ideas, skills and resources. It is a starting point for new projects to be born as well as a space to uncover new ideas. Vibewire Live includes events such as the fastBREAK innovation series run in conjunction with the Powerhouse Museum, Awesome Entrepreneurs where successful startups share knowledge with young changemakers, and Young Entrepreneurs Sydney meetups where aspiring entrepreneurs can network with like-minded individuals.

Innovation Lab

Young people who want to create social change need access to the right space, resources and support to get their projects off the ground. Vibewire runs the Innovation Lab, a coworking space for young changemakers to launch their ventures, while being part of a community of like-minded people – people who share skills, knowledge and networks. The Innovation Lab also boost a membership program, so young changemakers are able to join the Innovation Lab and receive easier access to weekly skill-building workshops and other events at the Lab.

Experience

Behind all of Vibewire’s projects is the Vibewire team, 99% of whom are volunteers who are looking to get a real working experience and change the world. This internship program gives young people a key stepping stone from tertiary education to their first jobs in their careers. Each year Vibewire gives a real working experience to over 90 volunteers a year.
