Enterprise Hub Administration Intern

Accountable to:    Executive Director
Duration:               3 month minimum
Commitment:       2-3 days/week
Location:                Sydney
Remuneration:     Volunteer

Position Summary

The Enterprise Hub Administration Intern will coordinate the day-to-day activities, manage the office space, coordinate the office events calendar and ensure smooth operations and delivery of services at the Enterprise Hub.  You will also work closely with the Enterprise Hub Residency Business Development Intern, Workshops Intern and Event coordinator Intern to plan, implement and promote the annual Enterprise Hub program and future strategy. You will be required to demonstrate a compelling interest in our mission and a highly professional, well-organized work ethic. The minimum commitment we ask for is three months; longer commitments are welcomed.

Key Tasks

Reception duties

  • You will be responsible for acting as the frontline of the Enterprise Hub. Your responsibilities will include answering the phone, welcoming visitors to the Enterprise Hub, and checking various Vibewire email accounts and Voicemail and auctioning messages appropriately;

General Office duties/ Office Space Management

  • Your responsibilities will include picking up the mail, collecting the newspapers on a daily basis, maintaining a tidy and functional office, handling stationary and bathroom supplies

Liaising with Vibewire Directors

  • Working closely with the Vibewire Marketing Director, the HR/Operations Coordinator and the Executive Directors to ensure that communications and outreach for Enterprise Hub is current, including the website, contact lists and online profiles, newsletter and press releases. You will also be responsible for assisting in the development of general partnerships and alliances with other organizations.

Handover

Your role will also include being responsible for:

  • Developing and documenting key processes for your role; and
  • Recruit, induct and train person to take over your position when you leave.

Vibewire Design Intern
Accountable to:    Executive Director
Duration:               3 month minimum
Commitment:       2-3 days/week
Location:                Sydney
Remuneration:     Volunteer

Position Summary

We are seeking a design intern to handle the week-to-week design tasks required to promote our organization. These will range from business cards to event invites to project and website graphic design. The role is perfect for someone looking for experience in design. Tasks including designing invites to Vibewire events, letterheads and stationery as well as promotional materials will be on your agenda.

The following attributes and experience are the most ideal characteristics of a candidate suitable for this position:

  • Strong design skills including photoshop
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience and interest in marketing (preferred, non-essential)
  • Ability to create we banners (preferred)
  • Basic HTML (preferred)
  • A thorough, methodical approach to the job and attention to detail.
  • Comfortable using the internet and methods of online communication, eg. online forums, email, MSN Messenger.
  • A passion for youth culture
  • Demonstrated commitment to the vision, mission and values of Vibewire Youth Inc.

Vibewire Multimedia Intern

Accountable to: Executive Director
Duration:               3 month minimum
Commitment:       2-3 days/week
Location:                Sydney

Position Summary

Vibewire Youth Inc., is seeking a part-time Multimedia Coordinator Intern to create viedo, audio, and image content for our website and marketing teams.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a compelling interest in our mission and a highly professional, well-organized work ethic. The minimum commitment we ask for is three months; longer commitments are welcomed.

The role would involve:

Content Generation

  • Generate multimedia content to accompany Vibewire events, Portal articles, and Enterprise Hub articles and blogs.  This also includes locating images with Creative Commons licensing to use with articles.
  • Help other Vibewire staffers understand how to use video, audio, and podcasts as a means to reach new audiences and better serve our existing audience.
  • Help train other Vibewire staffers on how to plan, shoot and edit photos, video, and audio.
  • Help implement promotional strategies for the website.

Marketing

  • Create video, audio, images, and podcasts in cooperation with the marketing team to promote Vibewire services and events.

Vibewire Portal Intern

Accountable to:    Online Producer
Duration:               3 month minimum
Commitment:       2-3  days/week
Location:                Sydney
Remuneration:     Volunteer

Position Summary

The Vibewire Portal is our online community for young creatives.  It’s the multimedia platform for young writers, artists and content producers to freely experiment and develop their creative expression.

The Portal Community Manager will oversee the operation of the Portal website.

The CM’s role is to develop an awareness centre for Vibewire so the organisation can listen and know what the youth creative community at large feels and is wanting.

Key Tasks

  • Editing and publishing content on the Vibewire Portal.
  • Ensuring that the Portal is organised by theme and content, and advising Website Architect on how the structure of the Portal can be improved.
  • Creating professional-quality content for occasional Portal headlines.
  • Recruiting writers and contributors from local high schools and universities, as well as from various online environments
  • Act as the main point of contact for those wishing to contribute content
  • Coordinate with the marketing team to include selected Portal content in the monthly newsletter.
  • With the Online Producer, summarise and promote best contributor content on Vibewire.org main page.
  • Cooperate with Multimedia Coordinator to obtain relevant images for each article that is published.
  • Manage and generate in house content based on a centralized database of editors and regular mail outs for story ideas.
  • Stay up to date on new social media tools, best practices and how other organizations and companies are using them, so that the company can continue to be an early adopter of these technologies.
  • Participate in professional networking by following the prominent bloggers and online writers & attending events.
  • Empower the listening ability of our organization to our community’s needs and desires.
  • Build an awareness of our organization through non-marketing efforts, measured by favorable or at least non-negative mentions on other blogs, forums, and in Twitter.
  • Deliver a blog and/or media platform that’s useful to the community at large, and that grows in number of subscribers as well as engaged commenters.

Enterprise Hub Resident Liaison

Position Summary

Vibewire Youth Inc. is seeking a part-time Enterprise Hub Resident Liaison Intern to oversee the generation of content in the Enterprise Hub section of our website, vibewire.org.

The successful candidate will demonstrate a compelling interest in our mission and a highly professional, well-organised work ethic. The minimum commitment we ask for is three months; longer commitments are welcomed.

Key Tasks

  • Communicate with the Head of Technology to give each Enterprise Hub resident a blog in which to record weekly operations.
  • Ensure that residents keep up with their blogging
  • Create articles for the website that detail our Spurt Networking nights and monthly workshops
  • Work with the Multimedia Coordinator to place video, audio, images, and podcasts of Vibewire events onto the website.
  • Create weekly headline articles summarising operations in the Enterprise Hub for the main Vibewire website.
