Introducing #StartupSundays

A few weeks back I happened to be in at Vibewire early on a Sunday morning. I saw it as a chance to quietly concentrate on some project work that I had not been able to finish off during a frantic week. As I closed the door on the noise from Harris Street, the comfy lounge, beckoned, bathed in early morning sunshine. “No”, I chided myself. “There’s work to do”.

So I plugged in my laptop and settled into a quiet groove. Then, as I was plugging away, I noticed a few people starting to gather out the front of the building. They were standing there. Waiting. Surely, I thought, young entrepreneurs were lazily dozing this early on a Sunday.

But I was wrong.

All of a sudden, another person arrived, swiped his card for access and sauntered in. The others peeled off up Harris Street in search of coffee.

“What’s going on?”, I asked. Surprised.

Apparently the team had gathered the night before, pitching each other ideas. Full of enthusisam, they turned up to Vibewire to continue brainstorming first thing. Clearly, they had the same idea as me … getting a head start on the week in a nice, quiet space.

And then it hit me. We should do this. Properly.
