Vibewire has had many award-winning projects in our nearly ten-year history.

sQuareOne – sQuareOne was the antecedent to enterprise hub, a unique and vital space for youth led projects, workshops and community. This hub provided resources, learning, infrastructure and opportunities for full time and part time residents. Social entrepreneurs, film makers, event organizers, web developers, and many more chose to start or develop their ambitious and innovative projects here.

Go Magazine – Go was a print travel magazine for young people by young people, in particular independent travelers. It presented young people’s real experiences of travel, not your average travel guide, giving them a platform of expression through features, anecdotes, images, fiction, or poetry. It broke the mold, providing real experiences and not mainstream tourism.

Interface Anthology - Interface was a print magazine created for the purpose of giving new youth perspectives on contemporary political, cultural, and personal issues. It gave a platform to young writers to express themselves and present their art in a meaningful and captivating medium.

Vibewire.net – This website was the antecedent to vibewire.org. Created by Tom Dawkins, founder of the organization, it aspired to empower youth and create dialogue and innovation. The website has grown throughout the years to include six different categories for youth involvement.

Reelife Film Festival – Reelife grew from a local film festival in Sydney to a nationally touring festival taking in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and Canberra, playing at Dendy Cinemas in each city. The highly successful event started in 2006 allowed young aspiring artists a forum to showcase their masterpieces.
New Connections Conference – New connections was a discussion on ideas, techniques and technologies for building community dialogue. This conference brought together some of the brightest thinkers across media, virtual reality, social networking, citizen journalism and advocacy in an intensive one-day conference.

ElectionTracker – electionTracker is the antecedent to electionwire. This project was designed to provide young Australians with information relevant to them and opportunities to express themselves during the federal election. This innovative project started in 2004 and their successes have made it a yearly part of the organization.

ProjectEye – PROJECTeye provided an online platform for discussion, whilst presenting critical news coverage of World Youth Day from a youth perspective. Working in association with SBS, PROJECTeye aimed to provide a democratic and open platform for ALL young people to discuss and debate questions pertaining to faith, freedom of expression, the pilgrimage, and the general impact of World Youth Day events and celebrations.

E-festival of Ideas – E-Festival of Ideas brought together 50 guests across 12 discussion panels in a 6 day event. The venue gave young people the opportunity to have conversations and interactions with their role models, organizations, and most importantly each other about different topics geared toward the youth. It gave the young people an opportunity to engage in the issues and ideas they were passionate about.

Sanctuary – Sanctuary was a mini magazine that provided a space for young migrants and refugees to tell their stories and for young Australians from all backgrounds to express themselves on what multiculturalism means to them.

Media Makers Scholarship Program was designed to equip participants with basic skills and tools required to produce mission driven media. . The series of workshops and mentorship sessions allowed young individuals to develop their voice and their ability to effect social change outcomes by honing in on the power of media to amplify that voice.
