Contributor Guidelines

So you want to get your work published? Vibewire is here to help you get your name up in lights, or on computer screens at least.

The following guidelines apply to all contributors on Vibewire Online. Please adhere to them to ensure that your work gets published without delay.

The purpose of our guidelines is to establish a sound methodology and high standard that will be consistent amongst all our writers and artists.

First we ask you to ask yourself; does the piece you want to have published on Vibewire, feel like it could have a home on Vibewire Online? Does it adhere to to Vibewire’s core values and direction. Does it subscribe to one or more of our categories? Is it about something that is important to you?

If you feel like the piece fits the bill, then great!

We then ask you prospective contributor to pitch your idea to our editorial team first. Please send your pitch, summing up your work to editor@vibewire.org. Our editorial team will then get back to you to let you know whether your pitch has been successful or not.

Final pieces must also adhere to the following guidelines:

  • Short prose should be no more than 500 words.
  • Articles, profiles, interviews and short stories can be up to 1500 words.
  • Photography should be of 300 dpi.
  • An extract of 30 words or less must be included.
  • Must have an accompanying picture/s.
  • (optional) To improve search for your article, add necessary tags to link to your article.
  • Please provide references to any information (statistics, quotes etc.) sourced for your articles.
  • The contributor must take full responsibility for any evidence of plagiarism that is identified in a submission.
